Adopted information on the epidemiological situation in FBiH

The federal government adopted information on the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the FBiH on January 9, 2023. with the proposal of orders and recommendations of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health, which were adopted with a validity period of 30 days, counting from 12.1.2023. years.

The cantonal governments, i.e. the crisis staffs of the cantonal ministries of health, were ordered to continuously monitor the epidemiological situation in the canton area, and in case of deterioration, take timely action and adopt measures, and regularly report this to the crisis staff of the Federal Ministry of Health.

This headquarters is in charge of continuously monitoring the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the territory of FBiH and, in case of deterioration, to immediately recommend new measures to the Government of the Federation of BiH.

The FMZ crisis headquarters will deliver today’s conclusions with attachments to the cantonal ministries of health and their crisis headquarters, cantonal health institutions, clinical centers in the FBiH, general, cantonal and special hospitals, the Federal and cantonal administrations for inspection affairs, and the cantonal police administrations.

In accordance with the conclusion of 8.1.2021. , the Government of FBiH will inform the Parliament about the epidemiological situation in the Federation of BiH and the measures it adopted today with the aim of protecting the health of citizens and reducing the risk of the spread of the virus.

When it comes to the orders, it is still mandatory to wear a respiratory protective mask in all healthcare facilities (employees, patients and all visitors). A reduction in visits to health institutions was ordered in accordance with the crisis plan for preparedness and response to the emergence of COVID-19.

The crisis headquarters of the cantonal ministries of health, as well as health institutions from the area of the canton, are obliged to regularly revise the crisis preparedness and response plans for the emergence of the new coronavirus, according to the change in the epidemiological situation in the area of the canton or the local community.

The crisis headquarters of the cantonal ministries of health were ordered to ensure the continuous work of hospital commissions and teams in all health institutions in the canton, regardless of the form of ownership, as well as clinical centers in the FBiH, with the aim of preventing the spread of the COVID-19 infection in health institutions.

In the information from the FMZ Crisis Staff, it was stated that at the FBiH level, the seven-day incidence is 1.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

In the Federation of BiH, there are currently 33 people undergoing hospital treatment (without data from the West Herzegovina Canton) due to COVID-19, of which two (6.1 percent) are on invasive mechanical ventilation. According to the submitted data, out of 22 hospitalized persons, 18 of them (81.8 percent) were unvaccinated and incompletely vaccinated.

Also, the information states that in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past reporting period, a low level of transmission of this virus in the community was recorded.
