The emergence of the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus caused a sudden disruption in the business operations of companies in the wood industry sector. The closing of borders, restrictions on the export of finished products and the import of raw materials for the needs of the wood industry resulted in negative trends in the business of these companies.

On the basis of information received from larger companies in the field of wood processing, in the specified period of time there was a business disruption expressed in the following parameters:

Reduced production volume by 10-15%
Reduced export volume by 20-25%
Layoffs 3-5%
Increased stocks of raw materials in JP Šumarstava, which threatened the insolvency of these companies.
