Exports of the metal sector reached 5.7 billion KM

The export of the metal sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the nine months of last year amounted to 5.7 billion KM, which is 36 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year, by which the import also increased, which amounted to 7.6 billion KM, according to the analysis of the Foreign Trade Chamber. BiH.
The increase in exports was recorded in almost all tariffs of this sector, and the export of aluminum and aluminum products increased the most in terms of value by 723 million KM or 123 percent, while the total exported value is 1.3 billion KM.

The top export markets for aluminum and its products are EU countries, and exports increased the most to Italy – by 311.2 million KM or 190 percent.

“The top export market is Italy, to which we exported aluminum and parts with a total value of more than 475 million KM”, they state from the Chamber and add that the export of aluminum and its products to Croatia increased by more than 109 million KM, i.e. 192 percent. so that the total exported value is 109.6 million KM.

When it comes to the export of iron and steel in the three quarters of last year, the value increased significantly by 295 million KM or 41 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, so that the total value of these products was exported in excess of one billion KM.

“The top export market for iron and steel products is Croatia, followed by Germany. These products were exported to Croatia in the total value of 224.4 million KM, which is more by 104.9 million KM or 88 percent compared to the same period in 2021,” the analysis pointed out.

Products of the electrical industry were exported in a total value of 1.9 billion KM, which is an increase of 327.4 million KM or 21 percent, while the top export markets are Austria, Slovenia, Germany, Italy and Serbia.

When it comes to the import of electrical industry products in the first nine months of 2022, the analysis stated that it amounted to 2.7 billion KM, which is 550.5 million KM more or 25 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while the top imports markets of EU countries /Croatia and Slovenia/, and Serbia.

The import of aluminum and its products amounted to about 1.3 billion KM and is higher by 760.5 million KM or 149 percent, and the most was imported from Switzerland with a total value of 707.1 million KM, which is more than 502 million KM or 245 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

When it comes to the import of vehicles and their parts in BiH in nine months last year, it amounted to 1.2 billion KM and is higher by 123.2 million KM or 12 percent compared to the same period in 2021, while the top import markets are Croatia, Germany , Slovenia, and Serbia and the Netherlands.
