GUIDE ON DIGITAL PAYMENTS PROMOTED IN THE CBBH

Organized by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), today, June 14, 2022. year, the online Guide to Digital Payments was promoted, which was developed in cooperation with the World Bank with the aim of better information and gaining knowledge about modern technologies and opportunities for digital payments available in our financial market. The guide was promoted by the Head of the World Bank Office for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, Mr. Christopher Sheldon and the Vice Governor of the CBBH mr. Ernadina Bajrović.

In addition to information on available digital payment options, the Guide also contains information and advice on how to prevent potential fraud and damage, and protect your data, money and rights, and access these payment methods responsibly. On this occasion, the importance of financial education in general was pointed out, especially in terms of new, digital services on the financial market, and the importance of the existence of mechanisms to protect the rights of users.

The Vice Governor of the CBBH Ernadina Bajrović thanked the World Bank for the support they have provided so far in the field of financial education and development of payment systems, and expressed her desire to continue cooperation. According to the Vice Governor of the CBBH, trends of increasing digital financial services on the market in BiH have been noticed, and thus this Guide monitors the needs of citizens for additional information and more responsible use.

Head of the World Bank Office Christopher Sheldon expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the CBBH. He pointed out that he hoped that the Digital Payments Guide would help citizens better understand digital financial services, providing basic information about what is offered on the market, but also pointed out the importance of fraud protection and knowledge of mechanisms for protecting the rights of service users.

Financial education of users is an important step towards better financial involvement of citizens, it was pointed out during the promotion.
