In the following period, stocks and prices of firewood and pellets will be inspected in FBiH

Today, the Government of FBiH adopted the information of the Federal Ministry of Trade on the need to analyze the prices of producers and traders of firewood and pellets in the Federation of BiH, and adopted conclusions.

The Federal Government instructed the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs to, within 10 days, submit to the Federal Ministry of Trade a report on the inspection of stocks and price calculations of producers and traders of firewood (KM / cubic meter), sawn firewood (KM / per cubic meter), chopped firewood (KM / cubic meter), pellets (KM / ton) and briquettes (KM / ton).
The Federal Ministry of Trade is in charge of informing the FBiH Government about this inspection report.

The goal of these activities of the relevant federal ministry and the FBiH Government is to ensure an orderly supply of fuel at the upcoming heating season at economically acceptable prices, but also economically sustainable business of producers with maximum social sensitivity and social responsibility appropriate to the economic reality in BiH in the context of rising global inflation. .

The Federal Ministry of Trade will inform the FBiH Government about the findings and report of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, and propose adequate further action in order to ensure the supply and economically acceptable prices of these products necessary to protect the living standards of the population.

In the context of prices, it is important to point out that one of the most important segments in the fuel and pellet market is public procurement of state institutions, such as schools, hospitals or other institutions, and that due to problems in the energy market for the same funds this year procure twice the quantity.

Also, pellets are one of the most energy efficient and environmentally friendly types of fuel and the least polluting.

In accordance with the initiative of the Government of FBiH from May 30, 2022 for the adoption of the Decision on the temporary ban on the export of firewood and pellets from BiH until December 31, 2022, the Council of Ministers of BiH is June 16, 2022. passed a Decision on the temporary ban on the export of certain forest wood assortments, firewood and wood products.

This Decision shall enter into force on the eighth day after its adoption and shall apply 90 days after its entry into force. According to the decision, a temporary export ban is introduced for products of tariff codes contained in the Product List, which include all product tariff numbers related to firewood and pellet components.

After inspecting the state of stocks and calculating prices, as well as submitting the report of the federal inspection, the Government will consider the possibility of taking additional restrictive measures.
