JOINT FORCES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTROMOBILITY IN BIH

On September 27, 2022. A joint meeting of the Association for Electromobility and the Association of Authorized Representatives and Car Dealers was held in the premises of the FBIH Chamber of Commerce/Economics.
In addition to members of the Association, the meeting was attended by dignitaries – representatives of institutions, namely: Mrs. Tamara Bajkuša, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs. Almira Kapetanović, Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Mr. Tomislav Bojić, Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, Mrs. Elbisa Zagorčić, Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, Mrs. Elma Kapetanović on behalf of the FBIH Environmental Protection Fund, and representatives of GIZ, Mrs. Mila Knežević, Mrs. Minela Isaković and Mr. Mario Jasic.
The aim of the joint meeting is to familiarize the members of the Association with the representatives of the institutions, as well as the past activities of all actors in the domain of electromobility, current issues, but also upcoming activities and modalities of joint cooperation.
During the exchange of information, the attendees were informed about the adopted decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH and the proposal of the Association for Electromobility regarding the suspension of customs duties on electric vehicles and the reduction of customs duties on hybrid vehicles, by creating an electromobility strategy, to the working group within the ministry , then about the activities of the FBiH Environmental Protection Fund regarding the co-financing of electromobility projects, legal regulations and activities of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the infrastructure of filling stations in BiH, where Mrs. Karabegović, on behalf of Autocesta FBIH, highlighted the already initiated activities within Corridor Vc.

Potential joint projects and cooperation of domestic institutions and international organizations were also discussed, where additionally the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications presented already certain initiated activities. Special attention was focused on the activities of the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry in terms of current subsidies, the current interest in the same, and the proposals of the members of the Association in terms of the continuation and improvement of these activities with an emphasis on expanding co-financing to legal entities. In addition, the members of the Association suggested to the representatives of the institutions that the effects of subsidies and suspension of customs duties will not be measurable in this period, considering the period when the decisions were made or adopted, and their extension is necessary.

All potentials of electromobility and new business opportunities were highlighted, where Mr. Sarajevo in front of Sejari d.o.o. highlighted the importance and potential of electric buses in reducing pollution from public city transport. They also talked about the potential of the electric freight program, and accordingly the expansion of the initiatives of the previous decisions to this segment of eletromobility as well.
Representatives of the Association for Electromobility informed members and representatives of institutions about the informative web platform with a map of charging stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, available at www.chargerbih.ba.
In the past period, the Association for Electromobility was also active in establishing international cooperation, where cooperation with the Society for the Mobility of Slovenia DeMS and GEVA – the global association of electric vehicle drivers – was particularly highlighted. Particularly interesting were the experiences and insights from the EV Congress of New Mobility, held in Lodz, Republic of Poland, where representatives of the Chamber of Commerce FBIH – Association for Electromobility in cooperation with the Society for Mobility Slovenia, arrived by electric vehicle.
In the following period, by unanimous decision, a more frequent meeting of representatives of institutions and members of the Association was adopted with the aim of exchanging information and joint cooperation, for which everyone expressed readiness, which additionally confirms the full filling of the hall where the meeting was held.
Also, on this occasion, the members of the Association for Electromobility and the Association of Authorized Representatives and Car Dealers, in the first part of the meeting, also elected a new management until the end of the current mandate, given that the previous presidents, due to other obligations, are not able to actively respond to the obligations of the Association.

The new president of the Association for Electromobility until the end of the current mandate period, June 2023, is Mr. Adnan Bosović, (EP BIH), vice-president Mr. Almir Cero (BIHAMK), and Mr. Drago Bago (EP HZHB).
The new president of the Association of Authorized Dealers and Car Dealers is Mr. Miro Sesar (GUMA M), the vice president is Mr. Danijel Despotović (Peugeot BH) and Mr. Jasmin Čengić (Porsche BH), with the current mandate period until the end of 2024.
We send our sincere congratulations to the newly elected leadership and good luck in the further work and upcoming activities of both Associations, with all the thanks for the exceptional contribution and advocacy of the previous presidents of the Association, Mrs. Suadi Penavi and Mr. Haris Murtovic.
