NEW AGREEMENT ON GP BETWEEN BIH AND CROATIA FOR EASIER CROSSING AND BETTER BORDER CONTROL

The Council of Ministers of BiH determined the Proposal of the basis for initiating the procedure and appointed a delegation to conduct negotiations for the purpose of concluding the Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia on border crossings, with corrections at the session.
The new agreement seeks to create conditions for easier crossing of the common state border and to establish a more efficient system of control over its crossing for the benefit of citizens and the economy.
The proposal of bases defines border crossings, namely for international road freight and passenger traffic with all inspection services for the movement of goods subject to inspection control, including cross-border traffic of live animals; for international road freight and passenger traffic through which the movement of goods subject to phytosanitary control is allowed; for international freight and passenger traffic; for international road and passenger transport; for international rail transport, and for cross-border transport.
At the same time, the work of border crossings and the functioning of joint border crossings are regulated, as well as the formation of the Joint Commission.
The proposal of the basis will be submitted to the Presidency of BiH for further procedure, and the Minister of Security has been proposed as the BiH signatory of the agreement.
