The largest number of recorded unemployment is made up of persons with a third degree of education, KV workers 31.61%, then workers with SSS 28.66%, and NKV workers 27.91%.

The largest number of registered unemployed women is with SSS 31.98%, NKV workers is 28.54%, followed by KV workers with a share of 25.93% in the total number of unemployed women.

Observed according to the qualification structure, the share of unemployed women is lower among highly qualified (VKV) – 21% and qualified (KV) – 48% workers, compared to the share of unemployed men in the total number of unemployed persons. With other qualifications, there are more unemployed women than men.

– Entry and exit from registered unemployment

Of the total number of registered unemployed persons in November 2022, there were 17,456* newly registered jobseekers, of which 8,399* were women. The number of persons deleted from the records of employment institutes and services is 20,130*. The number of women deleted from the register is 9,623*. Of the total number deleted from the records of institutes and employment services, 8,662* or 43.03% were employed, of which 4,447* were women or 51.34%.

In November 2022, employers reported 3,171* needs to hire new workers to employment institutes and services in Bosnia and Herzegovina, of which 773* were women, while the registered number of persons whose employment relationship ended in the reporting period was 8,603*. The registered number of women whose employment relationship ended in the reporting period was 4,281* or 49.76%.

– Material and legal protection of the unemployed

In accordance with the current legal regulations, in November 2022, 13,607* persons or 3.84% of the total number of registered unemployed persons used the financial compensation. The number of women who used the cash compensation was 6,367, which is 46.79% of the total number of cash compensation beneficiaries.

The right to health care was exercised by 205,025* persons or 57.80% of the total registered employment in BiH, of which 117,205 were women or 57.17%.

According to the data of the BiH Statistics Agency, in October 2022, the number of employed persons in BiH was 846,375, of which 378,276 were women. Compared to September 2022, the number of employed persons did not change, and the number of employed women increased by 0.2%.

The registered unemployment rate for October 2022 was 29.7% and compared to September 2022 it decreased by 0.1 percentage point.

Employment and unemployment rate according to data from the Labor Force Survey for the third quarter of 2022:

According to the results of the Labor Force Survey for the third quarter of 2022, the labor force (economically active population) in BiH was 1,366,000 people, while the number of inactive people was 1,521,000.

Within the workforce, there were 1,163,000 employed and 203,000 unemployed persons. The survey unemployment rate is significantly lower than the registered unemployment rate at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the third quarter of 2022, which was 14.8%.

The number of employed persons in the 3rd quarter of 2022 increased by 0.8% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2022, while the number of unemployed persons decreased by 5.6%.

The unemployment rate in BiH in the 3rd quarter of 2022 was 14.8% and is lower than the 2nd quarter of 2022 (15.7%) by 0.9 percentage points. The survey employment rate in the 3rd quarter of 2022 was 40.3% and is higher than the 2nd quarter of 2022 (40.0%) by 0.3 percentage points.

The youth unemployment rate (15-24 years) in BiH in the third quarter of 2022 was 36.2% and is lower than in the second quarter of 2022 (36.3%) by 0.1 percentage point.
