The price of natural gas reduced from 1.1.2023. years

At today’s session in Sarajevo, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Trade, approved the wholesale price of natural gas for distribution companies in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting from January 1, 2023. year, which amounts to 990 KM/1,000 Sm3, i.e. 0.990 KM/Sm3.

This price does not include value added tax.

The federal ministries of energy, mining and industry, and trade are responsible for the implementation of this decision, each within their respective jurisdictions.

On the day of the implementation of this decision, which enters into force on the day of its adoption and will be published in the Official Gazette of the FBiH, the previous Decision on giving consent to the wholesale price of natural gas from 2022 ceases to be valid.

In the explanation of the Decision, it was stated that Energoinvest d.d. Sarajevo submitted to the Federal Ministry of Trade a request for a change in the wholesale price of natural gas according to distribution companies in the FBiH, and the opinion of the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry.

Attached to the request is the Decision of the Director of Energoinvest on determining the selling price of gas for distribution companies (preferential tariff customers) dated 9 January 2023. years.

Energoinvest stated in the request that the new wholesale price should be reduced by 9.6 percent, i.e. from the previous 1,095 to 990 KM/1,000 Sm3 (0.990 KM/Sm3), excluding VAT, and would be applied from January 1, 2023. year and is unique for all distribution companies in the territory of FBiH.

Energoinvest stated that the decrease in gas prices was influenced by several factors, such as the drop in oil prices on the world market, the decrease in gas consumption in Europe and a relatively mild winter.

Namely, it was explained that in the last month there was a significant drop in the price of a barrel of oil on the market from 99 to around 82-85-90 dollars. Given that the cyan barrel of oil is one of the basic calculative elements for calculating the price of gas, it was lowered. Furthermore, the temperature in most European countries is above average for this time of year. This greatly reduced the consumption of natural gas and led to a decrease in demand, which ultimately resulted in lower prices. This also led to a reduction in the withdrawal of gas from underground storages.
