With the introduction of less environmentally harmful vehicles, the quota of 30 annual permits has been increased

A meeting of the Joint Commission on road transport between the delegations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of Germany was held in Sarajevo on July 4 and 5.
In the introductory part of the meeting, data were exchanged on the realized trade in previous years, as well as in the first five months of this year, where a significant increase in the volume of trade between the two countries was noted.
Considering this fact, the parties agreed that for the current year 2022, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be granted, in addition to the previously delivered contingent of 12,000 permits and an additional 3,000 permits for the transportation of cargo, of which 1,000 permits are for vehicles of the minimum eco standard Euro 5, and 2,000 permits for vehicles of minimum eco standard Euro 6.
Likewise, the quota of permits for 2023 was determined, where fulfilling the obligation to introduce environmentally less harmful vehicles enabled a significant increase in the current quota of 30 annual permits, so that in 2023, carriers in Bosnia and Herzegovina will have access to:
– 6,000 permits for vehicles of minimum eco standard Euro 5,
– 9,000 permits for vehicles of minimum eco standard Euro 6,
– 100 annual permits for vehicles of minimum eco standard Euro 6.
The two parties agreed that the permits have, as was the case until now, a validity period of 31.01. next year.
In addition to the above, the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina asked the German side that transports with oversized vehicles can be carried out without the obligation to have a bilateral permit, bearing in mind that to carry out this type of transport, it is necessary to submit a request for the issuance of a special permit.
The representatives of the German delegation said that the federal provinces are responsible for carrying out transport with oversized vehicles.
They pointed out that it is not possible to comply with the request of the BiH side that transports with oversized vehicles are performed without the obligation to have a bilateral permit, bearing in mind the different competences of the state and federal provinces.
The two parties concluded that for transportation by oversized vehicles, in addition to bilateral permits issued by the competent authorities of the two countries, it is necessary to have a permit issued by the competent authorities of the two countries for transportation by oversized vehicles.
