The first electric bus in BiH was presented

At the invitation of the company Sejari d.o.o., also a member of the Association, the Association for Electromobility attended the ceremonial presentation of the first electric bus in BiH in the past period.

Company Sejari d.o.o. from Sarajevo – The general agent, distributor and repairer for Bosnia and Herzegovina of the famous world brands VDL Bus & Coach, Isuzu and Krone, presented the Isuzu NovoCiti Volt, an electric bus from the Turkish company Anadolu Isuzu, which according to most of its characteristics is an ideal option for the city of transportation for cities like Sarajevo.

NovoCiti Volt entered the international market in 2021, in France. Since then, the manufacturer from Turkey has already received 25 orders for it from other European countries, which was a sufficient reward for the work done.

The NovoCiti Volt, which has excellent maneuverability with its length of 8 meters, stands out for its low operating costs and maximum efficiency in its class. The manufacturer offered it in variants with two different battery capacities – 211 kWh and 268 kWh. In accordance with that, it is enabled to reach 200 to 350 kilometers in mixed load.

Batteries can be charged with all types of chargers (AC and DC), so on 22 kW chargers, completely empty batteries will be charged in 8.5 hours, and on superfast 150 kW chargers, the battery can be charged in just 2.5 hours. The choice of battery is also interesting, so Anadolu Isuzu opted for lithium-iron-phosphate technology.

The power of the engine is 270 kW, and the torque is even 2,500 Nm, which many times exceeds the torques achieved by conventional diesel engines. Thanks to the optimal weight distribution, the NovoCiti Volt can

carry up to 51 passengers. It is equipped with a regenerative braking system, which significantly contributes to the use and increase of autonomy.

According to the current prices of electricity and diesel fuel in BiH, the exploitation of this bus is 17 times cheaper than the exploitation of analog diesel. Thus, a diesel bus with similar characteristics will consume an average of more than 100 KM of fuel per 100 kilometers, while an electric bus will consume less than 6 KM of electricity.

As the electrification of public city traffic is one of the key steps in reducing pollution from transport, the Association for Electromobility welcomes and congratulates the company Sejari d.o.o. on this contribution, step forward and vision of urban transport in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where we hope and call on the competent institutions to make it easier for authorized representatives with a stimulating policy in the procurement of prices in their efforts for a healthier environment.
