WITH ELECTRIC FORD MUSTANG MACH-E FROM SARAJEVO TO LJUBLJAN TOWARDS ENERGY-EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT

At the invitation of the EU coordinator for the Danube Macroregion (EUSDR), priority area 1b (road, rail and air connection), Anela Karahasan, on behalf of the Association for Electromobility, attended the 7th conference “Danube Region Transport Days (DRTD) 2022″, entitled ” Towards energy-efficient and sustainable transport”, held on November 28 and 29 in Ljubljana.

In addition to the opportunity to present the activities of the Association for Electromobility and the current state of electromobility in Bosnia and Herzegovina, this was also a unique opportunity to promote and advocate for greater use of electric vehicles. To that end, representatives of the Association for Electromobility traveled from Sarajevo to Ljubljana and back in an electric Ford Mustang Mach-E.

The “Danube Region Transport Days (DRTD) 2022” conference, entitled “Towards energy-efficient and sustainable transport”, brought together key representatives of institutions from Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Austria, France, Slovakia, Slovenia, of the Czech Republic, Belgium, Romania, Switzerland, Germany, Montenegro, Austria and Romania, and it is organized by the EUSDR in cooperation with UNECE, the Transport Community and under the auspices of the Slovenian Presidency of the EUSDR.

Since the goals of the EU are decarbonization by 2050 and reduction of pollution from transport, the aspiration is to make all transport “clean” and sustainable. On that path lately, clean transport is facing new challenges regarding the high cost of energy and the energy deficit in the EU. What incentives are currently available for green transport, what are the optional solutions, how to achieve energy savings, and what is the current situation in certain countries in Europe were discussed during this conference in Ljubljana. A particularly interesting overview was given in front of the Secretariat of the Transport Community on the topic “Sustainable and energy-efficient transport projects for the countries of the Western Balkans”, followed by presentations on the state of electromobility from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Serbia.

The electric Ford Mustang Mach-E, which was given to representatives of the Electromobility Association for a test drive by the company GRAND AUTOMOTIVE DOO SARAJEVO, attracted the special interest of those present during the two-day conference, as well as the views during the entire drive on the Sarajevo-Ljubljana-Sarajevo route. Although the impressive, external appearance of the Mustang Mach-E was visually pleasing, many questions were directed primarily to the number and place of filling, route, driving style, consumption, cost price…. The representatives of the Electromobility Association reported on the mentioned questions, the driving experience, but also all the challenges and crossing the mentioned route on the official Facebook page of the Electromobility Association (https://www.facebook.com/udruzenjezaelektromobilnost). What is still important to state is that the set challenge to get from Sarajevo to Ljubljana with only one charge in Slavonski Brod has been achieved. It is also inevitable to point out the driving comfort, the equipment with the latest technology, and the level of noise in the vehicle, when starting and driving itself, which is practically non-existent.

The Association for Electromobility of Bosnia and Herzegovina once again thanks the organizer of the conference for the invitation, and the company GRAND AUTOMOTIVE DOO SARAJEVO for the cooperation and transfer of vehicles in order to promote electromobility.
